Case earned a starting berth on the Bulldogs' 1959 SEC championship team as a sophomore and All-SEC honors at UGA in 1960 and 61. Case was team captain in '61.
A first-round draft choice of the Eagles in 1962, Case was traded to the Giants after three seasons. At New York he was reunited with Fran Tarkenton, the All-Pro quarterback who had led Georgia to victory over Auburn to clinch the 1959 SEC championship. He played 79 games in his six seasons in New York.
After retiring from the NFL, Case operated a restaurant in Atlanta called the Brave Falcon. He later retired to Lake Lanier.
Case was born in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Decatur, Ga., in 1954 where he attended Decatur High.
Survivors include daughters Lee Anne Rice and Cathy Colquitt, son David Case, brother Clifford L. "Bud" Case, niece Andrea Case, nephew Patrick Case, and five grandchildren.
