The group of primarily black ministers from predominantly black congregations in metro Atlanta is the second group to go public with their protests in a week's time.
Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway has applied for his department to receive training from the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. Once trained, deputies would have access to federal immigration databases and would be able to begin deportation proceedings for illegal immigrants.
Such a program is already in place in Gainesville through the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
Concerned Black Clergy says the program leads to racial profiling and disruption of families.
