3 holdouts were hard to persuade

ATLANTA - A juror in the trial against courthouse gunman Brian Nichols says the three holdouts who voted against the death penalty for the gunman may have already made their minds up before the trial began.

Tijuana Wade tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in Tuesday's editions that the three jurors kept saying "show me something" during closed-door deliberations. But she said "nothing we said made a difference."

Nichols was convicted of killing a judge, a court reporter, a deputy and a federal agent in a 2005 shooting spree that began in a downtown Atlanta courthouse. He was spared the death penalty Friday when three of the 12 jurors voted for life without parole.
