Woods fire burns near R-Ranch in Dahlonega

DAHLONEGA - Authorities say a woods fire is burning between 50 and 60 acres of land in Dahlonega this afternoon.

Officials with the Lumpkin County Fire Department said the fire is burning just behind R-Ranch and is expected to be contained sometime Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

They said Georgia Forestry and U.S. Forestry officials are on the scene, as well as teams from the Lumpkin and Forsyth county fire departments.

Authorities said no homes or structures are in the area of the blaze.
