GAINESVILLE - It was a very busy start Friday in Gainesville for the final day of advance voting.

The wait time as of mid-morning was about 30 minutes, according to Interim Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee-Hunter.

Friday was expected by many elections officials in the state to be the busiest day so far for early and advance voting.

Voting in Georgia began by law Sept. 22 in most places, though, some, like Hall County, started a few days before that since they had their ballots ready.

By the close of business day Thursday, more than 1.5 million Georgians had already voted. That's 25 percent of the state's registered voters.
