GAINESVILLE - Effective Nov. 1, Hall County will offer property owners the convenience of paying their tax bills online using an electronic check draft or credit card.

Residents and businesses may use this service at hallcounty.org to pay a personal or real property tax bill. The new service also will allow taxpayers to review their bills and current year account activity online.

A fee of $1.99 will apply to any E-check/Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) payment, which uses a checking account to process a payment. Convenience fees of 2.59 percent of the total bill will apply for Discover, Mastercard and Visa payments. These fees are imposed and collected by Evalon Inc. for the use of the service and do not go to Hall County Government. The service will notify the user of the convenience charge prior to processing the transaction, which allows the taxpayer the opportunity to back out of the online payment if desired.

Payments may still be made by mail to the Hall County Tax Commissionerâ
