Dyer named Gainesville schools supt.

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville educator who began her career as a pre-school teacher is now Gainesville school superintendent; the school board vote came Friday morning during a surprise reception at Gainesville High School.

The event was announced as a gathering of Dr. Merrianne Dyerâ

The city school board voted in a brief called meeting to have Dyer fill the post on a permanent basis

“It happened so unexpectedly it must have been a ‘meant to be’ thing,” Dr. Dyer said
