MURRAYVILLE - North Hall scored early and often against Pickens County, and put the Dragons away long before halftime in its 48-0 win at the Brickyard Friday night.

The night belonged to Avery Nix, Peyton Wilhoite and the rest of the North Hall offense.

It took exactly one play from scrimmage for the Trojans to take the lead when Nix took a handoff and sped past the defense for a 65-yard touchdown run and a 7-0 lead.

After an interception by Beau DeHass on Pickens' first possession, the Trojans needed just two more plays to take a 14-0 lead as Wilhoite scored on a 20-yard run.

The Trojans scored 34 points in the first quarter, added 14 more in the second, and quickly made it through the second half on a running clock.

Nix finished the game with three touchdowns on just three carries and 91 total rushing yards.

Wilhoite scored three touchdowns on just four carries and 83 yards on the ground.

Quarterback Blayne Gilmer had a chance to shine, too. Gilmer finished off the first quarter scoring with a 24-yard strike to DeHass for a 34-0 lead.

The North Hall defense deserved credit as well holding Pickens to just 60 yards of total offense for the game and forced three turnovers.

Chris Brown was a bright spot for the Dragons, accounting for 31 yards on the ground. Casey Reynolds also recovered a fumble for Pickens - one of three takeaways for the Dragons.

Up next for North Hall is a showdown with Chestatee at The Brickyard in a key Region 7A-AAA matchup. Pickens next will play at Creekview.
