Windom picks up first win as collegiate

Former Gainesville High golfer Jace Windom won his first collegiate golf tournament as a member of the University of West Georgia Wolves on Tuesday.

Windom clinched the title at the University of North Alabama Fall Classic held at Blackberry Trail in Florence, Ala.

Windom shot 71-67 to win the individual crown against a very strong NCAA Division II field.

West Georgia also finished second as a team, one stroke behind host North Alabama, which was a runner-up at the NCAA Division II National Championship last season.
