AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn's starting quarterback job is Kodi Burns' to lose.

Coach Tommy Tuberville said Tuesday he expects Burns to start the rest of the season, but added that is subject to change if somebody beats him out.

The current battle is for the backup spot between freshman Barrett Trotter and sophomore Neil Caudle. Former starter Chris Todd is resting his throwing shoulder during the open date.

Tuberville said the coaches plan to make a decision on Sunday. He said Trotter has agreed to give up his redshirt year if needed.

Tuberville said Trotter knows the spread offense from his days at Briarwood Christian High School.
Auburn's Kodi Burns, right, has been named starting quarterback for the Tigers.
