Major traffic pattern changes this week in Oakwood

GAINESVILLE - The state Department of Transportation (DOT) says some major changes are in the works this week in the Oakwood area, associated with the reconstruction of Exit 16 on I-985.

Motorists on I-985 northbound will have access to State Route 13 (Atlanta Highway) as the massive $75 million interchange reconstruction project in Oakwood moves forward.

The DOT is opening the new northbound on-ramp from State Route 13 to I-985, and will re-open the Park-N-Ride on Wallis Road at Exit 16.

At 6 a.m. Thursday, crews will temporarily close the northbound on-ramp from State Route 53 (Mundy Mill Road) to I-985.
