WINDER - The Georgia Army Guard is retiring its last UH-1 ``Huey'' helicopter with a flight from Winder to Temple, Texas, Wednesday.

Chief Warrant Officer 4 James Brennan, who first flew the helicopter, is to pilot the vintage chopper on is final flight.

Brennan will also receive the Order of Saint Michael, which honors people who contribute to Army Aviation.

The final flight acknowledges the end of a chapter in Georgia Army National Guard aviation history that began in late 1970s with the arrival of the first UH-1 to Georgia.

The Guard once operated more than 34 UH-1 ``Huey'' helicopters.

The National Guard air ambulance company in Winder now is transitioning to use UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
