No. 8 Lady Red Elephants stomp West Forsyth

CUMMING -- Every member of the Lady Red Elephants scored as the Gainesville High girls basketball team cruised past West Forsyth, 69-31 on Tuesday night at West Forsyth.

Jaymee Carnes led the eighth-ranked Red Elephants (15-4, 5-0 Region 7B-AAA) with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Kiki Thompson also had nine points for Gainesville, while Taylor Ricketts, Madison Strickland and Loren Thomas each scored eight points.

West Forsyth was led by a team-high eight points from Kelsey Turchi.

The Lady Red Elephants jumped out to a 21-4 first-quarter lead and held a 42-15 advantage at halftime.

Gainesville plays host to Pickens at 7 p.m. Friday.
