ATLANTA - AT&T Inc. has announced the activation of three new cell sites in north Georgia.

The new cell sites, which were activated in December, are part of AT&T's $50 million statewide wireless investment for 2007.

The company has invested more than $575 million in its wireless network in Georgia over the past three years. The Georgia network spans the state of Georgia and bordering markets in South Carolina, including Hilton Head and Aiken.

The new cell site in Cedartown, located on Collard Valley Road and U.S. 27, will enhance wireless coverage in the city. The second cell site, located on State Road 225 in Chatsworth, will increase wireless coverage in the surrounding communities. The third cell site, located on Robert F. Sink Memorial Trail, will enhance wireless coverage to the Toccoa area. In 2007, the company added 33 new cell sites in Georgia, eight of which were added in December.
