The first occurred about 10:00 Friday night at La Flor De Jalisco at 425 Atlanta Hwy. and left two people injured, Lt. Brian Kelly said Monday.
According to Kelly, Odilon Valencia, 26, Gainesville and Elias Diaz, 30, Gainesville, were leaving that location when they were confronted by several men who began to attack them.
Reports indicate Diaz was struck in the face and Valencia was struck and knocked to the ground. Velencia told police that after the altercation the suspects entered two separate vehicles and began chasing he and Diaz around the parking lot. Valencia was struck by one of the vehicles, knocked to the ground and run over. The suspects then left in their separate vehicles.
Kelly said Valencia was treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and released. Diaz did not require transport to the hospital.
The suspect who ran over Valencia is described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20s, driving an early 1990s blue or purple Cadillac Fleetwood. The other vehicle was a Gold Lincoln Navigator occupied by Hispanic males.
Lt. Kelly said the suspects are believed to be members of the Sur 13 gang.
WAFFLE HOUSE ASSAULT
The other assault occurred at the Waffle House on Pentee Drive early Sunday.
Lt. Kelly says Antione Jackson, 24, Gainesville, reports that while he was at the restaurant several women customers became involved in a fight. Jackson told police he tried to intervene to break up the fight and was stabbed three times by one of the women. Kelly said Jackson was stabbed once in the left elbow and twice in the left side and was taken to the medical center, treated and released.
His assailant was described as a dark skinned, black female, approximately 30 years of age, last seen wearing a gray coat and blue jeans.
