Coach Dennis Felton announced the plans for Singleton, the junior from Campbellton, Fla., who led Georgia with 17 blocked shots but recently lost his starting job to freshman Jeremy Price.
``Rashaad wants to play more and he believes there may be a better opportunity for himself at another school,'' Felton said. ``I am very proud of the strides that he's made in his two and a half years at Georgia, both as a student and an athlete. We have enjoyed having him and I wish him the very best.''
Singleton (7-0, 255) had his best game with 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks in a season-opening win over Jacksonville State. He said he plans to remain enrolled at Georgia through spring semester.
``There are no hard feelings at all and I'd like to wish my teammates the best of luck this season and in the future,'' Singleton said.
Singleton was averaging 2.7 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Price is averaging 9.9 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Singleton is the third prominent player now lost for Georgia, which is down to 10 scholarship players. Felton dismissed forward Takais Brown before the season and starting guard Mike Mercer on Nov. 19.
