Boys roundup: Flowery Branch slams Lumpkin County

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Flowery Branch boys basketball team overwhelmed Lumpkin County on Friday night, getting scores from 13 different players in a 79-47 victory at Flowery Branch.

Josh Barrett led the Falcons (10-1) with 13 points, while Brian Whelchel added 10 points. Connor Shaw and A.C. Bailey also scored nine points apiece.

The Indians were led by 21 points from E.J. Young.

Flowery Branch took the lead from the start and pulled ahead 42-26 at halftime.

The Falcons take to the court again Saturday, as they play host to White County. Lumpkin County plays host to Chestatee on Tuesday.

OAKWOOD -- The Vikings raced to a win over the Knights on Friday night in Oakwood.

Dedric Ware, Ken Wise and junior Kiante Young led East Hall with 10 points apiece. Trevor Bishop added nine points.

Colby Horne led the Knights with 11 points. Davaris Finch also scored nine points.

The Vikings play host to Gilmer on Tuesday. The Knights travel to West Forsyth.
