ATM stolen from Buford bank

BUFORD - For the second time in as many months, thieves have removed an ATM from a Buford bank.

Gwinnett Police corporal Illana Spellman says police responding to a silent alarm from the Regions Bank on Gravel Springs Road early Sunday arrived to find a forklift - apparently taken from a nearby construction site - sitting next to a pile of debris where the ATM once stood.

"It had done some extensive amount of damage removing the ATM from the building," Spellman said.

The earlier theft occurred in October.
