CUMMING-Dawson County versus Forsyth Central football was a rivalry that was rekindled Friday night. In that rekindling, Forsyth Central's light shined the brightest, as the Bulldogs beat the Tigers, 39-7.
Forsyth Central head coach Chris Bennett before the game stressed the keys: running the ball and good defense. Consequently, Forsyth Central ran wild with the football and put up an iron-clad defensive effort.
The Bulldogs offense ran the wing "T" offense to perfection, and Forsyth pounded the ball while only attempting two passes the whole game.
The Forsyth Central backfield accounted for all six of the Bulldogs' touchdowns, and
Don Juan Demarco finished the scoring with 41-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.
Later in the fourth quarter, Dawson County finally scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak. After a failed onside kick, Forsyth Central ran out the clock.
Coach Bennett attributed his teams' physical dominance to their physical four-day-a-week summer workout program.
