JEFFERSON - A total ban on most outdoor water use is now being imposed in four northeast Georgia counties, effective Monday.

As we reported Friday when the City of Jefferson announced tougher restrictions , the reservoir that serves those counties is, as one official put it, "almost empty."

The tighter restrictions for the four counties were issued by the Upper Oconee Basin Water Authority, which oversees operation of the Bear Creek Reservoir.
