Pilot hurt in small plane crash in Kennesaw

<p>The pilot of a single-engine airplane was taken to a hospital after crashing into a grove of trees near a highway and subdivision, authorities said.</p><p>The Cessna Aircraft Cardinal 177 went down about 5:30 p.m. in an old lake bed during the evening rush hour on nearby U.S. 41.</p><p>The pilot, identified as Eric Ward, 23, reportedly was running low on fuel. He was the only one aboard the two-seat plane, Kennesaw police officer Scott Luther said. The plane is registered to Hilltop Ventures Inc. in Taylorsville, authorities said.
