GAINESVILLE - First United Methodist Church of Gainesville is taking part of its ministry beyond the walls of the church.

It will soon be offering a counseling service to any and all comers from a "in-town" location.

Rev. Wendy Cordova, pastor of evangelism and discipleship, said Friday the services offered will cover those you would typically associate with such a program "things like marriage and family counseling, conflict resolution...depression, stress management."

The Care and Counseling Center of Gainesville will be located at 425 Bradford Street and will be staffed by professional counselors who will include a spiritual component in their consultations.

But, Rev. Cordova was quick to add "I want to make sure that people understand that we, as pastors, are still available and still willing to meet with people and pray with people."
