Owings, in his first outing against the Braves, went 4-for-4, including a pair of mammoth homers, drove in six runs and scored four times while pitching three-hit ball through seven innings as Arizona beat the Braves 12-6.
Owings, who played two seasons at Georgia Tech, improved his rookie season won-loss record to 6-and-6, while lifting his batting average to .279 with the four hits.
He has three homers and 11 RBIs this season. (See separate story by clicking on the link below.)
``It's up there with the best ever,'' Owings said of the game. ``To be back home and have the game I had tonight, I'm just unbelievably blessed.''
In a post-game interview on Sport South TV's "Braves Live," Owings said he knew of "probably 40 or 50" friends or family members who were in the stands Saturday night, some of them from out of state.
