LULA - Lula is moving ahead with a plan to implement a state-mandated monitoring program for creeks and streams. The city council Monday night discussed the start-up costs for the program.

City Manager Dennis Bergin says two figures were reviewed - $42,000 and $63,000. Bergin said Lula will be one of the first places in the state to implement the program.

Bergin says they've identified seven different creek basins that drain into "one key point" in Lula and they are going to start with four monitoring sites.
