Nineteen year old Vivienne Fleming left for her native Edinburgh Thursday after her visit as an exchange student in Gainesville, thankful that none of her friends in Glasgow were involved or injured in last weekend's attack at the airport.
"I hope none of them were near the airport," Fleming said.
Eight suspects arrested in last Saturday's airport attack and two failed car bombings a day earlier in London were all foreigners working for Britain's state health system.
Fleming, from Edinburgh, said the incident was a close call that she wishes could have been detected earlier.
"I think its a shame actually, I think everyone back home is afraid they're going to try something else," she said
Ann and Al Gainey were Fleming's hosts during her stay in Gainesville.
