LAWRENCEVILLE - A Gwinnett grand jury has refused to indict a former Duluth police officer, who once worked for the Hall County Sheriff's Office, in connection with a traffic stop during which a motorist was roughed up.

Eugene Flathmann was facing charges of simple battery and violation of oath of office for throwing the woman to the ground, pulling her hair and cursing her.

The video camera on the dashboard of his patrol car recorded it all.

Flathmann also used to work for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and is now with the Pendergrass Police Department.
