Georgia's drought eases somewhat

UNDATED - The monthly rainfall in Gainesville now stands at 4.72 inches for July... the biggest monthly total since last November.

Another .89 inches fell at the airport Sunday.

As you would expect, with the recent rains, here and elsewhere in the state, recent days, Georgia's drought picture is improving slightly, according to state Climatologist Dr. David Stooksbury.
