CUMMING - The developer who wants to turn a Cumming golf course into a subdivision is reaching out to opponents of his plans.

John Lowery is requesting individual meetings with homeowners and other interested parties.

That's according a group that has been organized to fight his plans to develop the subdivision on land where Lanier Golf Course now sits.

As we reported a week ago, the Forsyth County Planning Commission has postponed a hearing on the request until August 28.

Their concerns include traffic, crime, over-development, and the "inappropriate use of agriculturally zoned lands."

Last May, opponents filled the Forsyth County Administration Building's Commissioners Meeting Room to speak out against the rezoning.
