CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN - Del Webb's Village at Deaton Creek has opened a 35,000 square foot clubhouse and amenity center.

Developers says the complex, known as "The Club at Deaton Creek," has been specifically designed to "enhance and expand the active lifestyle" of the "active adults" to whom the Village at Deaton Creek is being marketed.

They describe it as the largest of its kind in Georgia, surrounded by numerous outdoor amenities. In addition to an Olympic-size indoor pool and 8,000 square foot fitness center with locker facilities, the amenity complex features a library, social lounges, a billiards and game room, grand ballroom, demonstration kitchen and arts and crafts studios.

When "built out," the Village at Deaton Creek will contain 1,250 homes for people 55-and-older.
