State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope says the bid specifications call for the work to be finished by April 8 next year, but that could change, depending on a number of factors, including the date the work starts.
Right now, Pope says, if the contract is awarded in early July, as expected, work on the 4.4-mile project could begin this fall.
