Yolanda King's body brought to Atlanta; memorial planned May 24

<p>Yolanda King's body was brought back to Atlanta by private plane early Friday.</p><p>Bishop Eddie Long, head of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and a friend of the King family, said he offered his plane to collect Yolanda King's remains. Long flew to Los Angeles on Thursday with Martin Luther King III and the Rev. Bernice King _ who also preaches at New Birth.</p><p>They returned to Charlie Brown Airport in Fulton County at about 2 a.m., Long said. Yolanda King attended New Birth's Easter Sunday service at the Georgia Dome on Apr. 8.</p><p>Long said on Friday that Yolanda King was to meet with Dexter King and his longtime friend, Phillip Jones, on Tuesday night. She and Dexter King arrived separately.</p><p>When she arrived at Jones' Santa Monica home, she collapsed and was not able to be revived.</p><p>There will be no public viewing of Yolanda King's body, the family said.</p><p>She will be cremated, according to her wishes. A memorial service will be held in Atlanta on May 24 at noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King Jr. preached from 1960 to 1968. Another service will be held in Los Angeles, but no details have been announced.</p><p>Yolanda King, who lived in California, appeared in numerous films, including "Ghosts of Mississippi," and played Rosa Parks in the 1978 miniseries "King."
