Elachee's Timpone taking a year off

GAINESVILLE - Elachee Nature Science Center announces that Andrea Timpone, the Center's President and CEO for the past 21 years, has been granted a one-year sabbatical by Elachee's Board of Trustees.

Andrea, her husband Bill, and their two children ages 15 and 12 will embark on a year-long expedition starting in late May and will travel - with her family - to various locales throughout the country.

Jock Hornor, businessman, educator, and avid outdoorsman, will serve as Elachee's Executive Director on a part time basis during Timpone's absence.

The Board of Trustees will host a combination bon voyage reception for Andrea and her family and a welcome party for Jock Hornor during the week of May 7.
