Burd named interim director of history center

GAINESVILLE - Dr. Martha Nesbitt, president of the Northeast Georgia History Center, has announced that Dr. John S. Burd, President Emeritus of Brenau University, will be assuming the position of Interim Director of the History Center.

In taking this step out of retirement, Dr. Burd will assist the search committee in locating a permanent General Manager.

Dr. Burd was instrumental in finding a site for the History Center on the Brenau campus. His commitment to its initial development and its continuing progress qualify him to help oversee the Center's current operations, according to Dr. Nesbitt. Burd retired from Brenau two years ago.

According to Dr. Nesbitt, "The executive committee is looking for a General Manager who will oversee the total operations of the History Center. We will outsource our needs for a curator."
