ATHENS - Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward and three-time All-America defensive end David Pollack will be two of the four former Georgia players on the sidelines as guest coaches when the Bulldogs conclude their spring football schedule with the annual G-Day intrasquad game at Sanford Stadium on Saturday.

Georgia Tech also plans a less formal final scrimmage of its spring football schedule on Saturday, with no score kept and no admission charged.

Ward, who played wide receiver, running back and quarterback at Georgia, Pollack, Will Witherspoon and Jon Stinchcomb will be guest coaches at Georgia's spring game. Ward was named Super Bowl MVP for the Pittsburgh Steelers following the 2005 season.

``During the fall, we have former players come back to serve as honorary captains at home games,'' said coach Mark Richt. ``We thought it would be a good idea to initiate a tradition to also have players as guest coaches at G-Day. We're thrilled these guys are coming and they want to be back in Athens for G-Day. It's going to be great to have them.''

Georgia returns 13 starters from a 9-4 team that finished with three straight wins over ranked teams, including a Chick-fil-A Bowl victory over Virginia Tech.

The 2 p.m. G-Day game will be televised by CSS.

Georgia Tech had a final practice scheduled for Friday before its last scrimmage Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Food, interactive games and activities for children will be available in Callaway Plaza outside the stadium beginning at 10 a.m. Players will be available for autographs after the scrimmage.

``It's not a game, and we won't be keeping score,'' said Tech coach Chan Gailey. ``We're just trying to get better.''

Junior Taylor Bennett has used the spring drills to take an apparent lead in the competition at quarterback.

Tech returns 17 starters from a 9-5 team.
