Lane closings next week on Mundy Mill

GAINESVILLE - Two lanes on Mundy Mill Road will be closed next week at Exit 16 as work continues on the reconstruction of the interchange. This is in addition to the lane shifts planned next week on Mundy Mill between Mathis Drive and the interstate which were announced earlier.

Work crews will be closing the two inside lanes on Mundy Mill under the interstate daily next week from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for paving.

"These closures will cause delays in the area as weather permits Monday, 16th through Friday, 20th," Gainesville state DOT spokeswoman Teri Pope said. "We are still planning to scoot traffic over on part of Mundy Mill Road. If weather permits, Tuesday the 17th crews will shift traffic on Mundy Mill over, closer to the Gainesville State College side from Mathis Drive to I-985. We are shifting traffic over so crews can work on the lanes furthest away from Gainesville State. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction so traffic should continue to run without much delay..."
