GAINESVILLE - Three students from Chestatee High School are the state of Georgia's representatives for the National Health Care Science Leadership and Skills Competition.

The three were selected to represent the state of Georgia after a statewide competition in Athens last month. The students will travel to Orlando, Florida to attend the HOSA National conference June 20-24.

Allison Wilson, the Health Care Science Technology teacher for Chestatee, said the competition is a high profile event. "In academic areas, as far a health care science, this is our national championship," said Wilson.

Sophomore Amanda Wehunt and senior Brice Dobson will compete as a team in the First Aid and CPR category. Senior Andrea Hensley will compete in the category of medical terminology. All three students currently are interested in pursuing careers in the field of nursing, according to Wilson.
