SUWANEE - Alan Landers has resigned his seat on the Suwanee City Council.

Landers, who was first elected to City Council in 2001, has sold his Suwanee home and is moving to another county in metro Atlanta.

"Giving to the community is important to me," says Landers, "and I'm grateful that my involvement with the City, thanks to the teamwork of dedicated, persistent officials and staff, has led to the successes Suwanee is currently enjoying."

Re-elected to City Council in 2005, Lander's current term was to expire in December 2009. The city council, later this month, expects to set the date for a special election to fill the remainder of his term.
