Gainesville girls rally past Stephens

TOCCOA - Kelly Bodine and Lyndsay Mercer won a tough three-set match Monday to help the Gainesville girls tennis team take a 3-2 win over Stephens County.<br> <br> The Lady Elephants improved to 6-3 on the season with the win.<br> <br> Gainesville trailed Stephens 2-1 after the singles matches.<br> <br> For Gainesville, Cayla Reece won at No. 1 singles beating Meg Patterson 6-1,6-2 while Laura Bilborough lost to Angela Smith 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. The Lady Indians&#39; Stephanie Olson beat Gainesville&#39;s Sara Henderson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.<br> <br> Gainesville swept the doubles with Jessica Cockrell and Emily Windhorst beating Kelli Colwell and Kelli Nelgebond 7-5, 7-5 at No. 1 while Bodine and Mercer outlasted Catherine Bridges and Liz Gonzalez 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 at No. 2 to clinch the match.<br> <br> <I>(From staff reports)<I/>
