Mississippi St. loses running backs coach to South Carolina

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State running backs coach Shane Beamer is leaving the Bulldogs to coach linebackers at South Carolina, The State, of Columbia, S.C., reported on its Web site.<br>

South Carolina has called a new conference for Wednesday, according to www.clarionledger.com.<br>
<br>
The 29-year-old son of longtime Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, Shane coached cornerbacks during his first two seasons with Mississippi State and tutored the running backs last season. Beamer will also be an assistant with the special teams for Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks.
