Thrashers reclaim Krog, lose Kapanen, Hamel on waivers

<p>After a pair of weekend trades, the Atlanta Thrashes lost center Niko Kapanen and left wing Denis Hamel on waivers Tuesday.</p><p>Kapanen was claimed by the Phoenix Coyotes, while Hamel went to the Philadelphia Flyers.</p><p>Atlanta did pick up a forward, reclaiming Jason Krog from the New York Rangers. The 31-year-old center was plucked off waivers from the Thrashers on Jan. 12.</p><p>Krog was assigned to Chicago of the American Hockey League.</p><p>Kapanen was a disappointment in his lone season with the Thrashers, who acquired him from Dallas for center Patrik Stefan and defenseman Jaroslav Modry. He had only four goals and nine assists in 60 games.</p><p>Hamel spent less than three weeks in Atlanta. He was claimed off waivers from Ottawa on Feb. 10 and scored one goal in three games.</p><p>The Thrashers acquired forward Keith Tkachuk from St. Louis and defenseman Alexei Zhitnik from Philadelphia ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.</p>
