NORCROSS - A Buford man and an accomplice were arrested Friday when seven to 10 pounds of marijuana was found in the U-Haul they were driving.

Gwinnett County Police were called by DEA to make a traffic stop on a U-Haul truck that had been under surveillance. Officers located the truck and made the stop on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Suwanee Dam Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that there was approximately 7-10 pounds of marijuana inside the truck as well as other materials that are used to grow marijuana such as aluminum lighting and irrigation equipment.

The Gwinnett County Drug Task Force was called out by uniform officers to handle this case. The investigators are currently obtaining search warrants for two locations related to this traffic stop. Those locations cannot be released at this time due to this being an active investigation.

The driver and passenger of the U-Haul truck were arrested. They are identified as 35-year-old Hung Nguyen of Buford and 33-year-old, Phuol Pham of Orlando, Florida, respectively. They are currently being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Due to their recent arrests, photographs are not available.

They could each face felony charges for the Manufacturing of Marijuana and/or Trafficking Marijuana. More charges may be pending after the execution of these search warrants.
