Baltimore A.P. Tom Brady put the Pats ahead with his second touchdown pass of the night, an eight-yard throw to Jabbar Gaffney with 44 seconds remaining. Gaffney barely kept both feet inbound as he helped the Patriots become only the sixth team in NFL history to begin a season 12-and-0.

The winning drive covered 73 yards and required two fourth-down conversions, one on a defensive holding penalty.

Brady threw for 257 yards but was just 18-for-38 with one interception. He threw a four-yard scoring pass to Randy Moss after the Ravens went ahead 17-10 in the third quarter.

Baltimore went up 27-20 on Kyle Boller's touchdown pass to Daniel Wilcox early in the third quarter. Stephen Gostkowski's second field goal of the game cut the Ravens' lead with 8:41 left.

Boller came close to pulling out a victory on the final play, hitting Mark Clayton for 52 yards at the New England three. But Clayton was wrapped up before he could cross the goal line, dropping the Ravens to 4-and-8.
