Convenience store employee robbed, stabbed

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville convenience store employee was stabbed during a robbery Saturday morning in the store's parking lot.

It happened about 9:00 at the Kangaroo store at Browns Bridge Road and Delta Drive.

Gainesville Police say Linda Glidewell, 53, Lawrenceville, was approached by a lone male, who stabbed her, stole her puse, and fled the scene. According to Lt. Brian Kelly, the purse contained the the business' bank deposit, consisting of an undetermined amount of money.

Glidewell was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lt. Kelly. As of Saturday afternoon, she was listed in stable condition.
