CUMMING - As the drought continues, Forsyth County is taking a look at getting water from sources besides Lake Lanier.

Since much of Lake Lanier is shoreline these days, Forsyth County Commission Chairman Charles Laughinghouse has brought in an expert to look at more ways to provide water to the county.

They've already started a dredging operation in the lake, but Laughinghouse tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the former head of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Harold Reheis, has come into help find more solutions.

Among the possibilities are building more reservoirs, digging wells and drawing water from the Chattahoochee River.
