The Lady Falcons employed a smothering full-court defense most of the game, holding the Lady War Eagles (1-3) to under 10 points in three of four quarters.
Flowery Branch coach Angela Middleton said they have had a nice start to the season. She also said they will see how good they are on Friday when the Falcons play host to defending Class AAA champion East Hall.
"We've gotten a little better each game, and we're always glad to get a win," Middleton said. "But we have East Hall next, so I'm sure we'll have to play our best game to have a chance."
Flowery Branch erased a 15-13 Chestatee lead in the second quarter, getting three straight steals to reclaim the lead at 21-17. The Falcons never trailed again. They closed out the first half with a 7-0 run, and Chestatee never got closer than eight points in the second half.
Danielle Miller hit three free throws in the final minutes to help preserve the win and led Flowery Branch with 13 points. Jessica Hart added 12 points, most of that coming inside. Molly May had seven points, five in the second half, including three free throws late in the game.
Chestatee was led by Peyton Robertson's 12 points. Kasey Smith added 10 and Erica Lackey had eight.
The Lady Falcons took their biggest lead of the game, 49-36, with just under two minutes left to play.
Flowery Branch opened the contest on a 3-0 run and finished the first quarter with an 8-5 run to take an 11-9 lead.
