Lady Spartans get first win, beat Alpharetta

CUMMING - The West Hall girls basketball team got its first win of the season Saturday night.

The Lady Spartans hit 22-of-33 free throws and held off Class AAAAA Alpharetta 45-41 in overtime in the South Forsyth Turkey Shootout.

Kim Smigelsky led West Hall (1-2) with 19 points and Jayla Moon added 10.

Devon Tancini led the Lady Raiders (0-3) with 16 points. Macy McDouglad added 11 for Alpharetta.

West Hall will open its Region 7-AAA Tuesday at home against Lumpkin County.

West Hall's game schedule game Friday at North Hall has been moved to Saturday due to the North Hall football team's playoff game.
