The Lady Vikings erased an eight-point halftime deficit to beat host Pope 42-38 and capture the Greyhound Thanksgiving Tournament Championship.
East Hall (3-0) did it with defense in the second half holding the Lady Greyhounds to just 14 points after halftime. The Lady Vikings trailed 24-16 at the break but outscored Pope 16-5 in the third quarter to take a lead they would not lose.
Sonata Chester led East Hall with 11 points. Tournament MVP Sada Wheeler added 10 points and six rebounds and all-tournament selection Tierra Benton chipped in with nine points and six blocks.
East Hall will open its Region 7-AAA schedule Tuesday when it plays host to region newcomer West Forsyth at Valhalla.
