Former Gainesville minister heads Georgia Baptists

AUGUSTA - A former Gainesville minister has been chosen head of the Georgia Baptist Convention.
Rev. Bucky Kennedy is pastor of the First Baptist Church in Vidalia.
He pastored Riverbend Baptist in Gainesville for nine years before leaving four years ago to become pastor of the Vidalia church.
Kennedy was named President of the Georgia Baptist Convention at the group's recent annual meeting in Augusta.
