ATLANTA - The Braves designated utility infielder Pete Orr for assignment and promoted three minor leaguer pitchers to their 40-man roster Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Orr hit .200 with two RBIs in 57 games last season. His best year was as a rookie in 2005, when he batted .300 with one homer, eight RBIs and seven stolen bases in 112 games.

The Braves purchased the contracts of pitchers Jairo Cuevas, Charlie Morton and Zach Schreiber to fill out their roster.

Cuevas went 6-12 with a 3.55 ERA in 132 innings for Class A Myrtle Beach. Morton appeared in 41 games with Double-A Mississippi, where he was 4-6 with a 4.29 ERA in 79.2 innings. Schreiber split the 2007 season between two teams, going 3-5 with five saves and a 2.22 ERA at Mississippi and 1-1 with one save and a 2.43 ERA at Triple-A Richmond.

The Braves also activated four players from the 60-day disabled list: infielder Willy Aybar, left-handed pitchers Mike Gonzalez and Mike Hampton and right-handed pitcher Anthony Lerew.
