Hargrett scores twice in MVSU win over Savannah St.

SAVANNAH - Johey Hargrett scored two touchdowns and ran for 112 yards to lead Mississippi Valley to a 28-3 victory over Savannah State on Saturday.

Hargrett hauled in a 20-yard touchdown from Ryan Burciaga in the first quarter and ran 8 yards for anoth4er score in the third.

The Delta Devils (3-8) also got touchdowns from Burciaga on a 3-yard run and a 1-yard run by Stephen Robert, both in the fourth quarter.

The only Tiger (1-9) score came on a 30-yard field goal by Jeremy Johnson in the second quarter.

The MVSU defense held Savannah State to 38 yards rushing on 30 attempts.
